RC Roosevelt Builds Global Connections at the Rotary International Convention in Taiwan
The Rotary Club of Roosevelt joined thousands of Rotarians from around the world at the 2026 Rotary International Convention in Taipei, Taiwan, taking part in Rotary’s largest annual gathering of leaders, changemakers, and volunteers committed to creating positive change.
Held in one of Asia’s most vibrant and welcoming destinations, the convention offered more than opportunities to attend inspiring sessions and celebrate Rotary’s global impact. It became a platform for international fellowship, where members from different countries came together to exchange ideas, build friendships, and strengthen the spirit of Service Above Self. It also provided a unique opportunity to experience Taiwan’s rich culture, warm hospitality, and remarkable blend of tradition, innovation, and community values—qualities that resonate strongly with Rotary’s own mission of bringing people together.
For RC Roosevelt, the experience was especially meaningful because it created opportunities to connect with fellow Rotarians from across the globe. Club members met Rotary counterparts from different countries, shared stories of their community projects, and exchanged ideas on how clubs can create a greater impact in their respective communities. These conversations also opened doors to potential sister club partnerships and future international collaborations that can benefit members and communities alike.
One of the greatest strengths of the Rotary International Convention is the opportunity to build relationships that extend far beyond the event itself. Every introduction has the potential to become a lifelong friendship, while every conversation can spark collaborative service projects, cultural exchanges, youth programs, and humanitarian initiatives. These global connections strengthen individual clubs while reinforcing Rotary’s worldwide network of service.
For a growing club like RC Roosevelt, participating in an international convention brings lasting value. Learning from successful clubs around the world provides fresh ideas that can be adapted to local initiatives, while establishing friendships with overseas clubs creates opportunities for future joint projects, knowledge sharing, and meaningful partnerships. Potential sister club relationships can also serve as a foundation for long-term collaboration, enabling clubs to work together in creating sustainable and impactful service initiatives.
Beyond the convention halls, Taiwan itself became part of the experience. Exploring its historical landmarks, vibrant communities, and cultural heritage offered valuable insights into the country’s traditions and way of life. These experiences fostered greater cultural understanding and reminded members that Rotary is not only about serving communities but also about building mutual respect and friendships across nations.
As RC Roosevelt returns home, the club brings back more than memories of Taiwan. It returns with new friendships, stronger international connections, fresh perspectives, and renewed inspiration to serve. The Rotary International Convention reaffirmed that every handshake can begin a partnership, every conversation can inspire a new idea, and every friendship has the potential to create meaningful service that reaches beyond borders.
