The Rotary Club of Roosevelt took another meaningful step in advancing education, community development, and service by traveling to Tingloy, Batangas for the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the local government, represented by Mayor Larry Alvarez and Vice Mayor Mikee Alvarez-Amboy.
The visit marked the beginning of a stronger partnership between Rotary and the Municipality of Tingloy, anchored on a shared commitment to creating opportunities for learning, empowerment, and sustainable community growth. As part of the occasion, the Rotary Club of Roosevelt also donated books and library shelves in support of the municipality’s newly established community library.
The donation is expected to enhance access to educational resources for residents, particularly students and young learners who will benefit from a dedicated space for reading, learning, and personal development. By helping build the library’s collection and infrastructure, Rotary continues its commitment to promoting literacy and education—one of the key foundations of a thriving community.
A significant highlight of the partnership is the allocation of a dedicated Rotary room within the community library. This space will serve as a hub for future projects and programs aligned with Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus, including basic education and literacy, disease prevention and treatment, water, sanitation and hygiene, maternal and child health, community economic development, peacebuilding and conflict prevention, and environmental sustainability.
The dedicated room will provide Rotary members with a venue to conduct educational activities, community outreach programs, training sessions, and other initiatives designed to address local needs and create lasting impact. It also symbolizes the long-term commitment of the Rotary Club of Roosevelt to work hand in hand with local leaders and community stakeholders in Tingloy.
