Rotary Club of Roosevelt joins the Masasa Beach Homeowners Association, the LGU of Tingloy, and the local community in preserving one of Batangas’ most treasured destinations.
For many visitors, Masasa Beach is known for its crystal-clear waters, white sand, and breathtaking scenery. For the people of Tingloy, Batangas, however, it is much more than a tourist destination—it is a source of livelihood, opportunity, and hope.
As part of its growing partnership with the Local Government Unit of Tingloy, the Rotary Club of Roosevelt joined the Masasa Beach Homeowners Association, local volunteers, and community members for a coastal cleanup dedicated to protecting the shoreline and preserving the environment. The club also donated cleaning materials to support the community’s continuing efforts to keep Masasa Beach clean and welcoming for residents and visitors alike.
The activity began before sunrise as Rotarians and volunteers prepared for a day of service. Working side by side, participants collected waste along the shoreline while reinforcing a shared commitment to protecting one of Batangas’ most important coastal destinations. More than a one-day activity, the coastal cleanup reflects a shared responsibility to preserve the natural resources that sustain the community.
Beyond protecting the beach, the initiative also helps protect the livelihoods of many local families. Tourism remains one of Tingloy’s primary economic drivers, and maintaining a clean, healthy coastline supports local businesses, boat operators, accommodation providers, and many others who depend on visitors throughout the year.
The coastal cleanup forms part of a broader partnership between the Rotary Club of Roosevelt and the LGU of Tingloy, working together on initiatives that promote environmental stewardship, community development, and sustainable tourism.
