SERVICE ABOVE SELF

Bringing Health Services to the Community

In a remarkable display of collaboration and service, the Rotary Club of Roosevelt, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Angat, conducted a Grand Medical Mission in Barangay Sta. Lucia, Angat, Bulacan. This initiative supports Rotary’s Area of Focus on Maternal and Child Health, providing essential healthcare services to 216 beneficiaries and turning a single day of outreach into a lasting impact.

Comprehensive Care for Mothers and Children

During the mission, 49 pediatric patients received specialized care, while 76 adults, many of them mothers attending to their children, benefitted from general check-ups. A dedicated team of OB-Gyne specialists, pediatricians, general physicians, and allied medical professionals delivered free consultations, prenatal and pediatric care, nutrition counseling, and essential medicines. RC Roosevelt also donated maternal and child health supplies, including prescribed medicines and nutritional supplements, extending the mission’s impact beyond the day of service.

Education and Empowerment

Families received guidance on prenatal care, breastfeeding, immunization, and proper nutrition. By empowering mothers with knowledge and resources, the project strengthened household resilience and promoted healthier futures for children.

A Formal Partnership for Lasting Impact

The day concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between RC Roosevelt and RC Angat, formalizing their partnership as sister clubs. This agreement reflects a shared commitment to serve with compassion, safeguard the health of mothers and children, and cultivate communities where hope and care flourish.

Through initiatives like this, the Rotary Club of Roosevelt continues to live its mission of service above self, demonstrating that focused outreach can leave an enduring impact on lives and inspire a stronger, healthier, and more connected community.
